Client: Regional Rail Car Cleaning Leader
Issue: 90 Day Hazardous Waste Deadline Emergency
Solution: Convert a Problem into an Opportunity
A regional rail car cleaning and service leader had a problem. Due to a software problem that affected their hazardous waste tracking, drums of accumulated hazardous waste that had been removed from rail cars were approaching their 90-day deadline for being shipped off site for disposal. In fact, they were within 48 hours of exceeding the permitted EPA time frame.
ERC Midwest received the panic filled call. “Can you help us?” was the question. “Of course,” was our answer.
We immediately got to work, making sure the required waste profiles and approvals were in order to properly ship the waste and requesting an expedited hazardous waste transportation request from our dispatch team.
Within 48 hours, our truck and team were on site, manifests and labels in hand, to properly label and load the drums. That same day, the hazardous waste was delivered to the hazardous waste TSDF.
Another complex waste problem solved. Happy Client!
