Client: Global Electrical Infrastructure Manufacturer
Issue: COVID-19 Infected Essential Business Mfg. Facility
Solution: Emergency Response 300K SF Manufacturing Space Decontamination
One of their hundreds of employees had tested positive for COVID-19 and their plant was in temporary shutdown mode.
This was a huge problem as the company makes and supplies critical electrical utility components that are in high demand throughout the world. Ownership knew that it had to respond appropriately to this emergency to decontaminate the space, provide their employees with the safety and peace of mind they deserved and get the plant back in operation as quickly as possible.
“Can you help us?” was the question. “Of course,” was our answer.
As this was our 2nd call to this client, the ERC Midwest team was familiar with the facility and immediately dispatched an expert Coronavirus decontamination project manager and crew of technicians to meet the client’s plant manager, define the scope of the emergency need and perform the work. After suiting up in the necessary Personal Protective Equipment [PPE] , which included a hooded Tyvek coverall, rubber boots and a full face respirator, the team performed a 2-stage decontamination process.
In step 1, they hand wiped all heavily trafficked and touched areas like doorknobs, desks, tables and computers. In step 2, the team used specially designed electrostatic sprayers to apply a chemical proven to envelop and quickly kill coronavirus. The sprayers atomize the chemical so that it dries fast and leaves behind no residue.
In less than 8 hours, the ERC Midwest team completed the decontamination process and the facility was safe and ready for the client’s employees to resume their critical and essential work.
We were proud to be the guide that helped this client achieve its goals.
Another complex waste problem solved. Happy Client!
